All of our custom jewelry design work is completed in-house, from the initial design to the finished product. Van Adams Jewelers recommends our clients update their jewelry appraisals every three to five years. Replacement
value for your diamonds and precious gemstones has increased dramatically in the last few years. The price of
precious metals such as gold and platinum has also increased. Most insurers will cover your jewelry up to the amount
of your most recent appraisal.
All of our appraisals include:
• Pictures of your piece from two angles
• Stones are expertly measured and evaluated
• The metal gram weight and type of metal is identified
The information and documentation is formatted for all insurer’s acceptance.
There are times in life when you realize that your jewelry needs a repair, perhaps a you need a ring sized, broken prong re tipped, loose stone tightened or a simple polish and rhodium on your white gold, we have a full-service shop onsite. Our associates will evaluate your jewelry and make recommendations to properly repair your fine jewelry.
Occasionally stones will fall out of your jewelry. An inspection every six months often helps prevent catastrophe by identifying small problems before they become large problems. In the event that you look down and see a missing stone come in and see us immediately. Our professional jewelers can replace the stones in most settings, solitaires, three-stone rings, channel settings, bezel settings or pavé. We can also set loose gemstones in your chosen mounting.
Pearls are a classic beauty that span the generations and often are handed down through a family. The best way to care your strand is to wipe them down with a soft cloth after each wear, always put your pearls on last and take them off first. Avoid direct contact with perfumes and lotions to ensure everlasting beauty. We also recommend to restring your precious strand every few years.
